Liz in the spotlight

The Kindergarten graduate!

First day of school (August 2010) ..........
and last day of school! (May 2011)
She traded those baby girl cheeks for
some big girl attitude!!!

She had the best teacher- Ms. Schumacher. She loved her and they were a perfect match. Liz said her favorite part about Kindergarten was "free choice time and playing in the kitchen". She also told her teacher that when she grows up, she's going to be a PRINCESS! I love it when Liz forgets she's not at school anymore and instead of calling me mom, calls me "Ms. Schumacher".

Best Friends Forever. Liz made such great little friends this year and she will miss them so much!

Liz's class had a Poetry Fair where each one of the kids got up in front of the class and parents, to recite a poem they had memorized. Anyone who knows Liz, knows that any kind of "speaking" is no simple task. But she got up in front of everyone and did absolutely perfect. I was one proud mama!
...her poem (short and sweet) "Turkey turkey, gobble gobble. Eat too much, wobble wobble" -

Some more things Liz did...
mastered monkey bars
Cat in the Hat Day...
100th Day with ZERO HERO!
Field Day
Kinder-Zoo day...
First bus ride to first field trip
sitting on the bus
homework
Splish-Splash Day
lost her bottom front teeth...
and learning to read.

She had the cutest little crush on this boy Trey in her class. She would tell me about how he always made her laugh and how she was going to marry him. SLOW DOWN LIZ :) She also learned that boys have cooties!
She wrote- "I wunto mere trey"

On the last day of school Liz had her Patriotic Performance that she had been practicing for months. When she first came home and started singing all these songs, I asked when she was
going to perform at school? Imitating her music teacher, she said- "When we get it right!!!" She was so cute up there. Sorry Liz, the short kids will always be in the front row :)

To celebrate the end of the year, Liz and Mom had a girls' night and went to Aunt Shellee's dance performance. It was so much fun and Liz has been making up her own dance moves ever since!

She has also started taking piano this year and has been doing really good. She's always been a little piano player by ear. Now she is just taking off and learning really fast. Her teacher, Sylvia Burr is AWESOME! Look out Jon Schmidt...
(you can hear Carter right beside me saying "My turn...my turn...my turn?")

This summer Liz looks forward to lots of SWIMMING and lots of cute freckles!!!
